Delivering Desks along the Sepik River Kaivola Community School

The Melanesian Foundation has for 30 years been building school desks at the Madang Resort initially using timber left over from various building projects, but as time went on a workshop was established and a target of 1000 desks per year resulted in more than 20,000 double school desks that have been manafactured and delivered to some of the most remotest community schools in Papua New Guinea.

The various pictures shown on the website show the various means of transporting the desks by boat, road and air.

Most of the schools that have been recipients of this particular MF project are located along the Sepik River, in the Madang and Milne Bay Provinces.

This website is currently under construction and a search is being made of the files to locate more pictures to illustrate the effectiveness of the "operation desk" project which has played an effective role in providing better education.
